Buildable area

Buildable area is the portion of the selected AOI remaining after enabled, available constraints are combined and removed.

Outputs

The current analysis can produce:

  • Baseline AOI acreage
  • Removed acreage and percentage
  • Remaining/buildable acreage and percentage
  • Buildable-area polygon
  • Buildable and non-buildable hex classifications
  • Slope, access, and constraint score factors
  • Available infrastructure proximity measurements

Reading the map

The buildable-area polygon is the geometric remainder of the AOI. Hexes are a screening visualization sampled against that result. Boundary cells can differ visually from the exact polygon because a regular grid is being classified against an irregular site boundary.

Always use the reported acreage and exact buildable polygon for totals; do not estimate acreage by counting visible cells.

Rerunning and resetting

  • Rerunning replaces the older generated output for the active project.
  • Reset analysis removes generated analysis while keeping the parcel/AOI.
  • Clear removes the AOI as well.
